Like I said, feedback is what I'm after, so thanks for that...
With regards to the Quali session being strung out, I'm not sure that it would. I'll make the system configurable so that cars can be released on any split point, the start line or after a set time. This would mean that on a longer track, 1 car could be released every 30 seconds, whereas on a shorter track, after the car in front has passed the first split marker. That should space things out nicely.
Of course when a car finishes their allocated laps, they would /spec which will give the racer time to go get a beer or to trash talk others. I realise that this may be a bit boring to others who have finished theor laps, but the way I figure is everyone deserves a fair chance at a clean lap. We'll have timers going so that racers on track know how they are doing, and likewise for spectators, so there should be a lot going on.
BTW, I think this kind of system could be used to run autocross sessions too. We'd do them in a practice mode and keep tabs on times etc

yep all good points here, kr0nik i think that 30 min qual session has its merrits too I will look at that in another series. I think we can just look at doing this qual format for f08 series, and use lapper to manager who goes out when, i think we dont need it too fancy at the moment: 1 lap warm up then next person goes out when they are half way through their flying lap, maybe jsut a setting in lapper where we cna type in how many seconds into their flying lap they can leave pits.
We have tried that autocross event idea before but not really seriously enough / organised properly. could be good though, that 1 on 1 track we have i really want to organise a proper knockout event for that track.
I had the idea (maybe another tpoic for this required) of doing 1 car/class on 1 layout for a month. So a server would run 24/7 or whatever....only run 1 layout and car so anyone could head in there anytime and do some laps, use !top to see where they are ranked for the month (would need krayy's lapper). every month would be a different car and maybe a different layout. I might run this in october.

Just an OUT there Ided. What if they can't make the qual, Maybe let them use their Hotlap time (if they have done one), This will also help get NZ flags up on the Hotlap list.

I thought I was wrong once, But I was Mistaken
