jaycar or dick smith have pots, be sure to check they have the right voltage ratings
does your wheel have a return spring or is it force feedback?

found the manual for the steering wheel and it has another mode that makes the steering more responsive so it's alot smoother, problem fixed for now.
Any car can go sideways, some cars just require more work
