hmm given stealas comment possibly the masses might be on tiptops side and i think this round i am also haha ive got a real dislike for autocross (possibly cause i dont have the patience to do it properly). But for the sake of what it actually should be well i think that last option looks good. The first option is a bit unfair (for want of a better word) given the nature of this type of event. The round robin one is perfect for how it should be as that gives the most accurate view of who is fastest but as you said that would take a while especially if there is a large turnout.

So that leaves me thinking the swiss option would be best with 2 rounds. One thought id like to add is increase the points of fastest lap to 3 so that person gets pole points aswell or even 2 points for fastest lap and 1 point for fastest theoretical lap per round though im not sure thats possible to work out easily and thats assuming it has sectors too. I cant remember if it does or doesnt have them.

I had another thought but typically i got distracted and now its gone.

yea same thoughts wildboy...it has 1 checkpoint, but as each track isnt equal length you only get 1 chance at a fastest lap, so with 4 laps you only get a shot once (1st lap is from standing start so ruins that lap attempt) so might go on overall time over the 4 laps rather than lap time. but hard give pole points then.....

either that or do 2pts for fastest lap and 1 pt for fastest overall time in each round?

Yeah I think the last option looks the best and fairest aswell.

As for handing out pole points, maybe giving it to the fastest overall time for each round would be good?

yea might do that. fastest lap will get 2 points, fastest overall time will get 1 point then will do it again for round 2

ok have updated World Series info page with Next Weeks round details. Hard to explain but just trust me it works.

Format 3: AUTOCROSS: 1v1 layout, Swiss-System Tournament, No qualifying.

This will be round style competion. amount of rounds depends on how many show up, e.g 9 people = 4 sets of 4 races run. This will be run twice ( 2 rounds)

Overall placing and draw of rounds will be decided using the Swiss-System Tornament (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament)

Points will be standard 10-9-8-7 for placing in each round.
Fastest Lap - 2pts = Fastest lap from all the races in each round
Pole - 1 pts = Fastest overall time from all the races in each round

On the night there will be URL to view Draw & Results

Great night guys, some really close finishes, Dyno had good pace here.

ROUND 1
Dyno won this round over-all myself had the fastest laps (39.71) and fastest overall (2.50.11)

Dyno and chris posted good laps with a 40.30 and 40.11

ROUND 2
Dyno again won the round over-all , with Chris getting Fastest lap on the last run of the night with a scorching 39.14, I took out the Fastest Overall time with 2.50.17 over 4 laps.

Dyno and myself posted good laps with 39.67 and 39.73 laps.
