Hi all,

I'm looking at putting a system in lapper where some events will be restricted to LFSNZ members, or racers who have been authorised by a game admin. This would give us control over who can race in an event (anyone can spectate) and hopefully make the races cleaner and more fun for everyone. The admins would have an interface to authorise racers on a per race or global basis, and have the power to move a racer between authority groups.

Speaking of auth groups, this is where you guys come in. Have a look at the list of racer status and let me know if there are any other categories that we should put in, or if these categories need adjusting.

NB: The system will be able to be turned on or off at admins discretion, e.g. the series server could have it turned on on race night, and off at other times.

• Spectator (Drop in racer who has not been authorised for this race event so can only spectate)
• Guest (Racer who is sponsored by a member and is allowed to race in this event only - no race points allocated)
• Junior Member (Can race and get points, but will be subject to review based on performance, ability and safe driving)
• Full Member (what all regular racers will be with no restrictions)

I think this system is good for new people wanting to race with the club, to learn the ropes etc. Would admins decide when they gain membership or would it be number of rounds? Like say 3 rounds with review,and compulsory starting from the back of the grid for two of those rounds.

Guest racers perhaps could gain membership by competing in a number of 'one-off' events

oh we dont wanna be to restrictive, i think its just to make sure peeps register at the forum and people that cause issues can be put on a not allowed list .

Sounds good.

However shouldn't all members really be subject to this as well (bit underlined)?

yea we need to work out some system indicdent reporting system for that. has been discussed breifly

Initially, I think a system like this might work:

1. A new racer attaches and is given Visitor status and will be given a terms and conditions and must agree etc
2. If its a closed event, then an admin would need to grant access to the race
3. If its a normal race, then he/she must request a sponsor for that session via a GUI.
4. A sponsor will click on the accept button and will then be responsible for that racer and he will be elevated to Guest
5. After the race, the sponsor will be shown a feedback button with Good/bad on it and that response will go towards the Guests rating
6. If the Guests rating hits a certain threshold, then he/she will have a Junior member alert sent to and Admin who can then approve it
7. Once the Junior member has competed in a number of events, an admin can rasie him to full member

That sounds a good Idea. I'd support that 100%
