Your chances of a successful stealing is very slim. Leave it up to the expert ie, moi,...

Ha ha, people in H-town must have lots of cultural urges....Yeah no kidding, Kronik and I set it up last night and did some duelling till nearly 1am!! Oh yeah good times.... yeah i'm in for the Wed night goodness... We'll post some pics of the General up, its getting a Mitsi 4G63T put in it (2.0 Dohc Turbo from VR4 for the un-initiated) so with that and some other mods should be a pretty interesting little toy...

Bit of an update on kr0niks behalf this is his new Cockpit setup in progress, looks pretty awsome.

I hear it has air dampened shifter! i hopes hes made it sturdy for thrashy gear changes!

man where do i start.......
FOV ?? :) is probally what this boils down to....good imersion making
for a better experence.....
possiblitys are endless for uses
if the sim can actually pull it off...im hopeing to sit in the passengers seat
and prepare my mum for her first ever r/l track day :)
............list goes on

ONE thing it had to be was
UNBREAKABLE
not saying its unbreakable but its guna be pretty close
the brake is a orginal rx7 damped and sprung and using bumpstops to make it go
firm at about 1/2 travell...and this is almost bottomed out on the g25 brake
when tested i was so surprised how well it felt like a real pedal...real progressive feeling and the psssst when u lift you foot
have adjustment to calibrate pedal to feel mint on differnt cars and in game settings also
so that should be sweet and strong as the pedals are taking the pounding not the g25 pedals

clutch
full throw rx7 pedal sprung with 2springs on different tensions
equals full throw on g25 clutch pedal
quite a hard springy clutch....works fine but will probally play around
once its up and running with different spring tensions and some sort of notchy resistance /or dampener
so it actually feels like ur moving some thing other than a big spring lol

gas pedal is o.g using cable onto a bracket on the g25 pedal.easy ....feels a little light ...but thats
easyly fixed with bigger spring in g25pedal

wheel
made an adapter that bolts onto g25s wheel pcd with a female spline to go onto rx7 steerring coloum
still using orginal steering coloum tilt to a deep dish 320mm drift wheel
coloum adds a little resistance and with the bigger wheel thats solidly mounted enabling big imputs
into the g25 motors......id say the ffb ablitly is there in lfs to make that wheel feel solid/strong
but i dont know how long for
stripped the wheel to the bone looking for areas to beef it up but because
the hole g25 coloum is plastic (but sits in proper bearings) and is part off the lock to lock stop
would be quite hard(expensive) to get one machined up
i dont think it will break first ....but is a weakness
MOTORS motors are tiny .....well for what i need..
will see how long they last .they have already had a good thrashing so im not holding my
breath for these two :)
only mod ive done to the actuall wheel unit was to cut out the front nostrills behing the mesh grills
and once hard mounted ..removed the screwclamps completly allowing more air flow
when these have a melt down i might try some fans
bigger wheel feels cool....adjustable coloum is cool for bigger drivers and getting in and out
sadly i no longer have any paddles or wheel buttons ...as the g25coloum is hollow and easy to run wires throught
changeing coloums was to much extra work but gave me lots of good ideas thinking about it :)
losing paddles is gay....but because of my screen layout and mainly because it was always aimed at being
a xrt replica i wasnt to worried .....tripple head wrap around is extremly effective for a single seater
and is best left to a single seater cock pit setup....
so yeah only button on wheel will be r/l horn button

still building gear shift...well hopefully finished tonite
this had to be strong.......
same deal pulled it to bits...nufing much to improve on with out wasteing money
pulled the detent spring apart to give it more force(loud click lol)
had to replace the inward/push down spring as once i extended the gearlever the extra weight
made the spring feel to soft...hard now...would be better if it was harder but would probably break
built a frame for it to bolt into the rx7 trans tunnel and the frame has a H gate on the top of it
it limits throw and makes sure the gate is engauged on the gear lever before the g25 gate has to line up
under the gate theres a rosejointed arm onto a air clinder to dampen throws
looks rugged as all hell but feels good and solid and the g25shifter is fairly protected from most force
also have had a few ideas that could add notchy resitance when when selecting gears
oh and seq shift still works fine with it

havent got to hand brake yet but it will feel correct and progressive and hard
pretty much if it didint feel right there wasnt much point building it sums it all up

what else....um
will be using full standard interio and rear seats and abit of the previous owners attempts to
do it up....has a ugly center console made out of checkerplate but three after market gauges
right where the xrt has has its gauges...so will use it for now
gauges wont be working unless some one can point me in the right direction to send my
gauge cluster to??
would be nice purely for good imersion and wankfactor but will probally end up just running dash lights unless it
screws up ya vision in the dark
fotos are hard to see but the monitors mount behind the shiny pipes...which are then wrapped
in roll cage padding to hide the boarders of the screens
and the plates on the side are what my wing monitors mount to
only put the side intrusion bars in to support the structure from folding once the b
pillars where cut out and pole in by hand brake is only tempoary
rear axle is now a trailer axle and the old 18s i borrowed are sitting 5mm from the inner guard
painting red. i think...previous owners started it lol

missed out lotsa shit but im over typing 2nite :)

Qs & As and ideas ????
