LFSNZ now has an official DC (Direct Connect) Hub server.
Direct connect is a peer-to-peer file-sharing protocol. Direct connect clients connect to a central hub and can download files directly from one another.
Hubs feature a list of clients or users connected to them. Users can search for files and download them from other clients, as well as chat with other users.
The Hub Setup Guide for LFSNZ only!
You need a few things before we can start getting you the application.
You will need access to your router to be able to port forward a port to your computer. (This allows for file sharing)
Visit: http://www.whatismyip.com/ - and write down your IP address. Given in this format: 123.456.789.012
Windows XP Users
Open - Start -> Run
Type - cmd
Click - OK/Run
Type - ipconfig
Push - Enter
You will get something like this:
Grab your "IP Address". Given in this format: 123.456.789.012
Windows Vista/7 Users
Open - Start
Type - cmd - in search box
Push - Enter
Type - ipconfig
Push - Enter
You will get something like this:
Grab your "IPv4 Address". Given in this format: 123.456.789.012
Download: http://www.lfsnz.com/downloads/CZDC-LFSNZ-1.0.zip
Extract this archive somewhere on your hard drive. Example: My Documents
Run CZDC.exe
You should get a settings box. If not open File -> Settings
Select - Active
In the 'IP' Box, type the IP address you got from What Is My IP website.
In the 'Bind Address' Box, type the IP address you got from CMD
TCP and UDP box should be set to port 4110, if not, type 4110 in both boxes.
Now click 'OK'
Hit CTRL+F on your keyboard or open View -> Favourite Hubs. We are now going to add your user ID and Password. IF you do not have a user ID or password, PM Steala now to get one.
You will see a LFSNZ entry, right click on it and open properties. Put your user ID in the nickname box and password in the password box.
Click 'OK' and double click LFSNZ to connect. If you want it to auto connect when you run CZDC automatically, select the checkbox next to LFSNZ.
Port Forwarding
We now need to forward a port to your computer's IP address. You will need the IP address which you got from Windows CMD.
Port (Inbound/Outbound): 4110
IP Address: The IP Address found in CMD above.
If you do not know how to do this, PM steala with your Make and Model of your router.
