LFS New Zealand

Hey folks.... How's it going ???

OK, so I've been an avid LFS (and other sim) racer for a good few years now, and i'm a member of the DBP (http://www.drivenbypassion.net) team which is based in the UK.

I moved over to NZ (Auckland) about 3-4 months ago, and clearly I've been struggling to race with my team mates much due mostly to the time zone constraints... That and the fact that if I do manage to get online, i can very rarely find a server with a ping of less than 300ms, which, with LFS is just a bit too high for close racing.

So, I've started to google for NZ based LFS stuff, and ended up here! ...

Is it me, or does there seem to only be a very small presence in Sim Racing in NZ, Be it iRacing, rFactor or LFS, there hardly ever seem to be any NZ based folks around.

Do you guys have your own NZ based servers ?, if so, , am i welcome to come and race on them at some point...

Well if you look on LFS's own database there is actually alot of NZer's reg'd on LFS. We are slowly growing here.
Currently we meet most Wednesday nights for LFS racing. We are just recently trying rFACTOR, and most of us have a go at FPS's.

Yes we have I think 4 [LFSNZ] servers. Demo, S1 and S2 servers. We are a pretty cruisey bunch from all over NZ.

Anyways, welcome and hope to see ya on the tarmac or dirt soon.

You are more than welcome to join us! As Kwak (our event manager) says - we mainly race Wednesday nights after 7:30pm. See our schedules thread for events. We usually post there when we have something going. If not - well there's usually a freestyle event where we just come in and see whats going on!

Yup welcome to our humble abode. I think most of what you need to know has been said but thought I'd just remind you to grab yourself a copy of ventrillo if you havnt already so you can either listen in on our Wednesday nights banter or join in, your choice as we think it only fair to give eachother a full serving of stick whilst ingame hehe.

Note: Wednesday night will be LFS as usual and not rFactor as mentioned by Steala (our cultural advisor and immigration liason)

I'll have to download and install Ventrillo, we always used to you TeamSpeak, but I guess it's the same bag.

For the life of me, I can't get the above.... ^^^^, the Rfactor Central link is screwed, and the KiwiDirt site no longer appears to have it as a download... does anyone have an alternate link ?

I know what an arse rFactor can be unless the mods, and versions are spot on
